By skipping the arduous multi-day overland drives, you preserve your energy for the core spiritual activities: the parikrama and the rituals at Lake Mansarovar. This journey combines the efficiency of modern aviation with the ancient traditions of pilgrimage. You will fly from Kathmandu to the Nepal-Tibet border, enjoying spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas. Throughout the yatra, we provide luxury accommodations wherever possible, a dedicated medical team, and expert guides who ensure your comfort and safety. What makes it special
Day by Day
Arrival in the spiritual capital of Nepal. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred to a luxury hotel. The evening includes an in-depth orientation session covering the unique logistics of the helicopter route and the spiritual significance of the upcoming days.
A short domestic flight takes you to Nepalgunj, a city near the Indian border. Here, we conduct final health checks and briefings. The stay in Nepalgunj is essential for logistical coordination of the onward mountain flights.
A breathtaking morning flight in a fixed-wing aircraft takes you to Simikot, followed by a dramatic helicopter ride to Hilsa, the border outpost. After crossing into Tibet, we drive to Purang (Taklakot) at 3,900m for initial high-altitude acclimatization.
We drive from Taklakot towards the sacred Lake Mansarovar. As the turquoise waters come into view with Mount Kailash standing guard in the background, the spiritual weight of the journey truly begins to settle. Evening prayers are held at the lakeside.
A dedicated day for rituals at the holy lake. Begin with a pre-dawn meditation, followed by a holy dip and ancestral rites guided by our priest. We also perform a vehicle parikrama of the lake, offering multiple perspectives of this divine landscape.
Drive to Darchen, the gateway to Kailash. We visit Yam Dwar, the "Gate of Salvation," where the parikrama traditionally begins. For those not doing the full trek, this is a point of powerful darshan and prayer.
A flexible day. Those who wish can perform a part of the parikrama or take a pony/porter for the full trek (requires additional days). For others, we arrange a vehicle-based darshan of the South and West faces of the mountain.
With hearts full of blessings, we begin the return journey. A scenic drive takes us back to the border at Hilsa, where we prepare for the reverse helicopter and fixed-wing flights.
A series of scenic mountain flights bring you back from the high plateau to the lush Kathmandu valley. The transition in landscape is a time to reflect on the immense journey undertaken.
After a final morning of prayer or shopping in Kathmandu, you fly back to Delhi, concluding your express pilgrimage with a renewed sense of spirit and peace.
